Every Returning Anime Affected by COVID-19 - and When They Come Back

The entertainment industry has been heavily affected by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, and  anime  is no exception. A state of emergency was declared in Japan on April 16, which was  lifted on May 25  after the number of cases in the country fell. Most studios suffered  delays in production  before and during that time, including TV Tokyo, MediaNet and Toei Animation. Meanwhile, international streaming services and distributors like Crunchyroll, FUNimation and Sentai Filmworks announced delays in the simulcasting and dubbing of licensed anime. Some adjusted to a work-from-home strategy to ensure production continued and broadcasters resorted to replaying older episodes in their stead. Now, more and more series are steadily resuming from where they left off or announcing rescheduled air dates. Here’s a list of every returning anime series and film affected by COVID-19 and the date of their return. A Certain Scientific Railgun T  (earlier episodes rescheduled with Episode 16 airing

Baki heals and get's more stronger

Going into the third season of Netflix's Baki, one of the main attractions was always going to be how the titular youngster overcome his shriveled wrestling body after being poisoned by an enemy. He was infected by Yanagi despite beating the convict, and Sea King Retsu decided to bring Baki to the Raitai tournament so his warrior spirit could fight the poison. He just wasn't recovering back in Japan so Retsu figured fighting with Americans, Japanese and Chinese brawlers would reinvigorate the kid.

It sounds a bit ridiculous but given the nature of the series, and the mystical aspect of combat, there is some credence to it. And so said, so done, because martial arts and wrestling are what brings Baki back. However, when you dissect what cured the 17-year-old, you have to admit that it's a perfectly cheesy for a young adult love story.
